Life | Am I Being Selfish?

Image from google

Hi blog friends!!

So my schedule kind of went out the window haha! This post is probably gonna be pretty short (and possibly quite vague haha) but I feel like I have to address it haha! I have had a rollercoaster of an August, a lot has happened and I'm not really sure how to feel about it all...

So first off I went through my first ever break up. I ended it with my boyfriend because I wasn't happy, I honestly don't have any bad feelings towards him (although I'm not sure how he feels about me) the relationship for me just wasn't right anymore and being 21 about to turn 22 I'm way too young to be unhappy...so my question is at this age am I allowed to be selfish?
Well in short yes. One of my best friends told me that 'this is the time in your life where you've got to put yourself first' (love you Pol) and she is ultimately very right. Being so young means I should have the balls to say no to the things that are making me unhappy, and although I will never forget the time we spent together I can honestly say being selfish has made me happier.

But it's not just that being selfish and putting myself first has made me happier, it has given me a fresh start. I said in another blog post that I have moved away from Devon to work for Kingspan up in Hereford, and in order to succeed here I felt like I needed to close one whole chapter of my life to start a new one. Which is exactly what I've done, and I don't feel guilty about it!
Every decision I've made in the past month has been for me and my happiness (something I haven't done in a really long time) and I won't be made to feel bad about that. People grow and change, it's a natural part of life and if being selfish is my way of growing then so be it.

So right now I'm just focusing on making myself happier and doing the things I want to do and no one is going to make me feel bad for living the life I want.

Lots of love
Katy

Disney | Beauty & the Beast Tsum Tsum Release

Hi blog friends!!

First off disclaimer Tsum Tsum's are possibly the most difficult thing to photograph so I am sorry for the v poor pictures haha!

I was reading my Timehop the other day and a year to the day I Tweeted asking when the BatB Tsums would be released, well Katy all you had to do was wait a whole year and THEY'RE HERE!
I have been wishing the would be the release every single time they announce them, and finally my prayers were answered.
I get that some people don't get the hype and think they're a waste of money but like shut the hell up that's what I say sassy girl emoji!

I had the awful dilemma that they were being released when I was on my way to work, and there was NO way I could stay at home and get them without being late, and obviously I can't buy them at work and there is no signal (first world problems I know). So I risked it (unfortunately not for a biscuit) and tried to get them whilst I was in the car (I wasn't driving just so you know haha). Luckily I was able to get the whole set and my confirmation came through seconds before I ran out of signal at work. It was one of those moments where you just know the rest of the day is going to be great.

They came on Sunday which was fairly slow for the Disney Store but as soon as I saw them I knew I needed to blog them! I am SO happy with them, because obviously if you buy them online you can't choose them yourself so you run the risk of them being too firm or have loose stitching etc, but they are all perfect! Obviously my favourites are Belle and Beast but they are all so detailed and look exactly like the characters, Cogsworth even has his pendulum printed on his tummy which is such a nice touch.

Which tsums do you have?!

Beauty | Pink Lip Edit

Hi blog friends!!

Since summer (term used loosely) began I have been a big fan of wearing a pink lip. I am definitely a nude/brown/red kinda gal but I feel really girly and cute whenever I have pink lips (although with my blonde hair I run the risk of looking Barbie-esk), but who cares!

I picked my top 4 lipsticks that I have been reaching for over the past month when I'm feeling that pink lip!

MAC Amplified Crème Finish - Chatterbox £15.50

MAC lipsticks are just little bullet shaped holy grails! Chatterbox was one of the first pink MAC lipsticks I got (my first was Girl About Town which is a firm fave). This lipstick is a red toned pink and is SO bright, you literally can't miss it! This is the shade that makes me feel like barbie because it is so bold and very girlie, a true Barbie pink and I love it!

Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick - Ballet Slipper £9.50

I actually only got this because I needed a certain amount to get free delivery on Beauty Bay haha! I just picked it without really giving it any thought, it just looked like a pretty pink and I love liquid lipsticks so I didn't really know what to expect.
I was so surprised at the quality of this product, especially for the price. The application is a little patchy but has a beautiful finish and dries fairly quick (maybe even quicker than Kylie's).

YSL Rouge Volute Shine - #8 £26

I have mentioned this lipstick before in my Spring Lipstick post. So I won't go too much into detail but this lipstick is...heavenly! Not only does it smell incredible (like watermelon) but the quality and colour pay off is the best of any lipstick I own. I know the price is tres ridiculous but damn it these are worth every penny!!

LOC Millie Mackintosh Ultra Gloss Lip Pencil - Bohemian Rose £9

I got this lip pencil in one of my Birchboxes (it is exclusive to their site so if you want to check it out go to https://www.birchbox.co.uk/shop/loc-millie-ultra-gloss-lip-penciland like the Gerard Cosmetics one I didn't really think that much of it.
It wasn't until I was getting ready to go out for one of my best friends birthday meals that I decided to give it a go. I knew I wanted a pink lip and saw this just lying at the side of my make up bag and thought that will look super cute if I use Koko K with it and damn I was right.
It also quite Barbie-ish but it makes a really nice base for any other lipstick. The formula isn't as buttery as I thought it would be, it is quite dry so your lips need to be prepped and moisturised for this to look nice on its own, but in saying that it is very pigmented and is long wearing.

What is your favourite pink lipstick?

Disney | Disney Wish List #7 Princess Edition

Hi blog friends!!

Since the BatB Tsum's came out (yes I got the whole collection grin emoji), I have been obsessed with looking at all things Disney Princess related, and I knew I had to put a Princess themed wish list together. This is literally about 1/20th of the items I would love, but these are some items that I have wanted for ages so are top of my list!
When I was browsing the website I came across a section for the Animator Collection and it is literally SO cute! There is a Tink milk bottle shaped water bottle and it is seriously giving me the wants (okay I know Tink isn't exactly a DP BUT she's cute so)!

1. Animators iPhone Case £9.99
How adorable is this phone case!!!! It has Punzie, Pocahontas, Snow and Tink on it all drawn in the animator form and I lits can't get enough haha! I've been looking for a new Disney phone case for ages and and as soon as I get paid, I imagine this will be mine!!

2. Rapunzel Traditions Figure £35
I would love all of the Disney Traditions, I think they are so beautiful and I love these Princess ones with their castles (or towers) on! Punz looks super cute so I feel like I need this haha!

3. Tink Shoe £16
I already have 3 of these beaut shoes (Cinderella, Punzie & Aurora), so I am basically just trying to collect my fave princesses. This Tink one is just adorable, I think the wings and the pom pom make it look so recognisable and it will look perf in my collection.

4. Belle Plush £17.99
Do I even need to explain why I want this plush...BELLE. IN HER CHRISTMAS OUTFIT. CHRISTMAS BELLE. That is all the explanation you need!!

5. Pocahontas Plush £16.95
First off, why is Pocahontas 5p less than the other princess plushies???? Anyway personally I think this Pocahontas plush is the prettiest of all the plushies, she's so damn cute! Again why wouldn't I want a super cute Pocahontas plush!

6. Snow White Shoe £16
Again, Snow is one of my fave princesses so I defs want her in my collection. I think this shoe is literally so beautiful and probably my favourite of all the shoes.

7. Belle Shoe £16
Okay so by now you get that I like these damn shoes haha! Belle being my fave princess has been on my list for SO long now, I tried to find her at DLP when I went last November but sadly I only found her once and they were ALL BROKEN, ALL OF THEM cry emoji! I was so excited to see this back in stock on the website because it ALWAYS sells out, so to avoid disappointment I might have to purchase this pretty quick!

So that's my current Disney wish list, hope you enjoyed seeing what items I'm loving right now!
What is on your wish list Disney or not?!

Lots of love

Life | Why I Took A Blogging Break & New Blogging Schedule

Hi blog friends!!

It has been a seriously long time since I've sat in front of my laptop and written a post, but here I am! I thought I would explain where I've been and what I've been doing, as SO much has gone on!

So, I did put up a few posts here and there from the start of this year, but not as much as I was hoping and the only thing I can blame this on was my dissertation and uni work. Third year was mental, I've never worked that hard in my life haha. Once my dissertation was handed in and I had finished my other uni work, then it was time to wait for results. During this time (June) I moved back home to Devon and whilst I was there, I decided to take a step back from blogging, as I wasn't in the right frame of mind, what with waiting for results and finally having time to sleep and chill out after the craziness of uni, I just lost all excitement for writing posts and the thought of having to take pictures and edit them, I just couldn't bring myself to do it!

At this time as well, due to being so stressed and anxious about waiting for my results my Trichotillomania became worse, and I ended up pulling out most of my fringe (so now I have a tiny baby fringe which looks ridiculous). I tried really hard not to let it get as bad as it did, but unfortunately I simply couldn't help it, I was so worried and stressed, and I had convinced myself that I had failed my dissertation and hadn't got a 2:1 (which was what I was aiming for overall), so that was another reason that made me not want to do anything, because my confidence and self esteem was so low.
However come the middle of June and I received the best news, that I'd got a 2:1 for my dissertation and I was literally over the moon, I couldn't believe I'd done it, but that didn't take away the anxiety I felt about my overall grade and I continued to pull my hair out.
At the end of June, my Grandparents came down from Scotland and stayed with us for 2 weeks, which was amazing. My brother and sister also made it down for the first weekend of July, and my sister bought her puppy Lenny (OH MY GOD THE CUTENESS). Over this period I didn't even want to blog, just spend time with my family as I don't see them a lot, so this was such a special time.

In the second week of July I found out my overall uni grade, and I can't even tell you how happy I was to find out I was graduating with a 2:1 in Screen Media (I had a little happy cry in my bedroom)! I was so convinced that I hadn't done enough, I would say to my dad pretty much that I had let the family down because I hadn't done as well as Charlie and Chris (who both got 2:1's). So to find out I had was just such a shock and a relief!

Soon after results it was graduation time. I can't even express how amazing graduation was, I had the best time! I laughed so much and got to spend time with so many of my friends. It was the perfect way to say goodbye to St. Mary's.

After graduation I stayed in London for a week, packing up my bedroom (also took a cheeky trip to the ZSL as well haha), and I was intending to blog whilst I was up there that week, but what did I go and do you ask?! LEFT MY LAPTOP IN MY DADS CAR AND HE WAS DRIVING BACK DOWN TO DEVON. So that foiled my plans haha!

Now my life has turned upside again, my mum has offered me a job at the company she works for, and I start this Monday, yes THIS MONDAY AS IN TODAY! So I have just moved up to Shropshire/Hereford for 3 months.
However I am adamant to stick to my new blogging schedule, which is...

3 times a week, and I am sticking to the three topics that I love and interest me: Beauty, Disney and Life. The days will be...

Monday's
Wednesday's
Saturday's

Every post will be up at 4pm English time! Hopefully I can stick to this new schedule!

So that has been my life over the past few months, but now I'm back and I'm ready to get back into blogging and love it again!

Lots of love

Beauty | New Benefit Brow Collection

Hi blog friends!!

I can't believe I haven't blogged at all this June, been busy doing other things such as completely redecorating my bedroom, which I will do a post on when it is all finished! I can't wait, I have a feeling it's going to look so good! Anyway, to get back in the blogging swing of things I thought I'd start by doing a quick beauty post. This one is all about some of the products from the new Benefit Brow collection.

About a week ago they had another flash sale, where it was possible to get your hands on the range (apart from Goof Proof) before they hit stores. I couldn't pass up this opportunity, so got 4 of the new products *monkey with hands over eyes emoji* haha!

The products I chose were Browvo Brow Primer, Ka-Brow, Precisely My Brow Pencil and 3D Browtones. Now I am a Browzings kinda girl, so I know how good Benefit brow products are and I am actually yet to try any of these products, but couldn't resist showing off these absolute beauties!
The new packaging for the brow collection is stunning, so modern and pretty. They remind me of the circus due to all the lids looking like circus tents (is that the point, the packaging does have what I assume is a magicians assistant on?).

I like to have my brows a bit darker than they should be haha, so I picked up Ka-Brow and Precisely My Brow in shade number 3 (as it is the same as my Browzings) and 3D Browtones in shade 2, as there are only 2 shades for this light/medium and medium/dark and the dark one looked quite dark for me.
I am also so excited to use the Browvo Brow Primer, it is such an interesting concept, and if it works I think it will be a firm favourite as I do find that sometimes my brow products do smudge and don't last as long as I'd like, so hopefully this is the product to help!!

I can't wait to try out these products and once I have I will do another post on my thoughts about the actual products, if that's something you guys would want to read of course!!
Have you tried any of the new range of products?! If so which ones?!

Lots of love

Disney | Disney Wish List #6 Etsy Edition

Hi blog friends!!

I can't believe I'm already on number 6 of my Disney wish lists, I absolutely LOVE writing up these posts because 1. I get to browse Disney things and 2. I love showing the things I'm loving.
For this wish list, I thought I would just focus on the items from Etsy I am totally wanting right now. Plus I love sharing and supporting little businesses especially on Etsy because everyone is so talented, so it's fun to tell everyone about them, some of these you may know as they person behind them is a Youtuber or someone in the DLP community, so lets get into it (prepare for lots of links)!

1. Beauty & the Beast Rose inspired phone case (£9.99)

A few months ago I was searching for a phone case that covered my screen, because after smashing my phone screen I became so worried that I'd do it again. I was searching Etsy and came across this seller (OVESS) and I couldn't chose between the one I eventually bought or this BatB one. In the end I bought myself the Marie, Berlioz and Toulouse one (here). It is amazing quality and SO cute. Great price and came very quickly, so I think I might be putting another order in soon.

2. Maple & Whisky Reed Diffuser (£9.75)

I have loved Maple & Whisky for a very long time now, and have 3 candles and some wax melts, and I can honestly say that they are some of the best candles I have ever purchased. When I found out they are now doing reed diffusers I got so excited! I constantly have reed diffusers in my bedroom because they just make a room smell amazing. The scents I would love are Arendelle and Beach Club.

3. Set of 3 Star Wars Prints (£11.50+ depending on size)

I love Disney prints, well prints in general and these prints really stood out to me! I love that they are places from the original films. The seller is Harknett Prints and they do loads of different prints including Harry Potter and Disney.

4. Marie Minnie Mouse Ears (£19.18)

These ears come from the shop MousekaEarsBowtique, which is run by the lovely Brittany from the Youtube channel Disney At Heart. I saw these in one of their videos and just fell in love! If you didn't already know, Marie is my favourite Disney character so I am seriously in love with these ears! Check out her Etsy for super cute ears and bows!

5. Belle Watercolour Print (£7.70+ depending on size)

If you read my Tinker Belle inspired wish list, you'll know that a print from this seller was on that (but of Tink obviously haha). I absolutely adore this style of print, it is so different and beautiful. Of course, Belle would be my first pick as she is my all time favourite princess, plus the colours on this print are simply stunning! You can find these prints from the seller Genefy Prints, who does a wide range from Disney to Harry Potter to landscapes.

6. BB8 Bow (£6.39), Marie Bow (£5.68) & Chewie Bow (£4.97)

These beautiful bows come from the seller Extra Sweet Bowtique. There are probably 100 bows I would love from this Etsy shop, they are made so beautifully and all the characters are so recognisable. I would love some of these bows for when I go to WDW next year, as I am planning on Disney Bounding so these would be perfect! Here are the individual links for all three: BB8, Marie & Chewie.

7. Frontierland & Fantasyland Tube Station Postcards (£0.95)

These clever prints come from itslizi, who I know from the DLP community on Twitter and she is incredibly lovely and so easy to talk to (check out her Twitter here). I think these prints are absolutely fantastic and such a great idea! They would look fab in blog posts, instagrams and in little frames. The two I chose are Frontierland and Fantasyland as they are my two FAVOURITE lands at DLP and WDW, especially Frontierland!

8. Disney & Donuts T-Shirt (£27.71)

Lastly is this super accurate t-shirt! I'm sure Bob can confirm that I talk about Disney and donuts on a regular basis so this t-shirt is literally perfect for me! This comes from the seller Glitter Ever After, who do lots of Disney inspired clothing items that are all super cute!

Etsy is a goldmine for Disney related items, and you can find some absolute gems! I also like to support sellers as I said, especially if I know them or have spoken to them on Twitter etc.

What Disney items are on your wish list, Etsy or not?!

Lots of love

Skin Care | Favourite Moisturisers

Hi blog friends!!

As you may know, I am a skin care addict which means I try a lot of different moisturisers because I like to see what works for my skin, and because well I love buying and trying skin care haha!
Moisturiser for me needs to be chosen very carefully, I have combination skin which is very sensitive and can get quite dry (wow thanks skin for being all the things!). These four moisturisers have worked on my skin incredibly well and I chop and change between all four when my skin needs something different, so here we go!

All Time Favourite Moisturiser:

My number one all time favourite moisturiser goes to...Kiehls Skin Rescuer! This bad boy is my secret weapon to healthy, glowing, even skin! I got this on a whim whilst I was browsing the Kiehls website (by browsing I obviously mean purchasing). I claimed to do all the thing I wanted it too such as reducing redness, stress and signs of fatigue (the last 2 things synonymous with writing a dissertation). From the first application I could tell this moisturiser was the one! It has a light scent, kind of avocado-y, the formula is light and sinks into the skin so effortlessly. All in all this is my holy grail moisturiser and 5/5 from me!

Favourite Mattifying Moisturiser:

My favourite moisturiser for keeping me matte all day long, La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat. This moisturiser is great for us combination skin girls because it regulates the amount of sebum the skin produces, therefore keeps you looking matte all day long. This can be used under make up as a primer or just as a normal moisturiser. The smell is very subtle but nice and the formula feels lovely on the skin, not heavy at all and sinks in very quickly!

Favourite Hydrating Moisturiser:

My favourite moisturiser for giving hydration all day is the Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream. First off I adore the packaging for this product, its so cute! But anyway, this moisturiser is so luxurious and thick and you can really feel it working on your skin. It has manuka honey in it which makes it super great for those of you with acne, as manuka honey helps to keep skin clear and feeling fresh because it has anti-bacterial properties! The smell is to be desired, I don't mind it as it smells like the Antipodes Aurora face mask! Overall this moisturiser keeps my skin feeling plump, fresh and hydrated all day, also when I use this under my make up, it seems to stay on longer!

Favourite Smelling/Glow Giving Moisturiser:

Finally is The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser. This one is great for those tired days, when your skin is feeling a little under the weather and needs a little pick me up. The formula is very gel like and is incredibly refreshing on the skin as it is quite cold. It gives you an instant glow that I have never had from any other moisturiser! This one definitely has my favourite scent, it is very fresh and invigorating, perfect for using in the morning to get that skin glowing!

So there you have it, my favourite moisturisers for my skin type! What is your favourite moisturiser?!

Beauty | Top 5 Spring Lipsticks

Hi blog friends!!

Lipsticks are a staple in every girls or boys make up bags, and since the season has changed into one of faves, Spring I thought I would share my top 5 Spring lippies that I reach for without fail! So lets just jump right into it (wow I watch too much Phillip De Franco).

1. YSL Rouge Volupté - 8 (£26)

First up is my number 1 most reached for lipstick, YSL Rouge Volupté Shine in number 8 ( which I believe does have a name but I can't remember it). This is most luxurious lipstick I have ever bought, and I know the price can put people off but my gosh you get what you pay for! The colour is a beautiful mauvey pink which goes with literally every make up look! The formula is obviously quite sheer but can most definitely be built up to create a beautiful colour. The best part of this product though, it smells like watermelon, yes watermelon! Such a beautiful spring colour and lasts all day!

2. Rimmel Kate Nude Collection - 45 (£5.49)

Next is one from the Rimmel Kate Nude collection, which is my favourite collection from Rimmel, I have quite a few shades but this one is definitely my favourite. This is a browny nude/pink and perfect for day time wear. The wear on this isn't as good as some of my higher end lipsticks and needs to be re-applied at least twice during the day, but honestly the colour and the smell make up for that!

3. L'Oreal Colour Riche - 632 (£6.99)

This is my most used drugstore lipstick for sure. I bought this without even really looking at the colour, I just needed a nudey pink colour and this fit the bill, but when I got it home and tried it out I instantly fell in love! It has amazing wear and is very glossy on the lips, I love pairing this with the YSL to give a beautiful, very glossy pink lip.

4. MAC - Please Me (15.50)

My perfect pink. It is a rosy pink with a matte finish and oh my gosh I just can't stop reaching for this lipstick. This and Speed Dial are two of my favourite MAC pinks. The wear is incredible and looks so pretty with any make up look, very girly and very pretty!

5. Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour - Devotion (£6.99)

Okay so this products name is a mouthful (no pun intended), but this is one of my new favourites. It is a liquid lipstick that dried matte (obviously) and smells like whipped vanilla which is seriously yummy. This feels very comfortable on the lips and I only experienced the tiniest bit of flaking, but after I had had it on all day long, which for a drugstore liquid lipstick is pretty impressive. It is a deep pink colour and looks fabulous paired with a smokey eye.

Swatches:

So those are my favourite spring/pinky lipsticks that I have been reaching for, for the past few months! What is your favourite spring lipstick?!

Lots of love

Lifestyle | Once Upon A Time Funko Pops

Hi blog friends!!

Todays post is just a short one but I couldn't not post about these little cuties! I posted a while ago about my Funko's (which you can read here) and since then my collection has grown quite a bit, so if you would like to see a complete updated version comment down below!
When it comes to buying them, I have a strict rule of only buying ones from films/TV shows I really love or specific characters I love.
Once is one of my favourite TV shows because it encompasses Disney and fairytales and magic etc which are all my favourite things!

These Funkos are probably my favourite collection (bar the BATB collection which I need to finish) and Regina is my all time favourite Pop that I own. The detail on them is amazing, especially Rumple he is so glittery and just look at those teeth! Also the dagger is super detailed as well. I think it's absolutely crazy how much they look like the actual characters!
The characters I have are Prince Charming, Snow White, Regina/Evil Queen, Rumple and Emma Swan. I am still on the hunt for Captain Hook so if anyone can hook me up (no pun intended) that'd be great, and then I would have finished my collection.
I'm really hoping they come out with some more characters like Henry, Belle, Mr. Gold and Robin Hood that would be perfect!

Do you have any Funkos?! Who is your favourite OUAT character?!

Lots of love

Skin Care | Quick Night Time Skin Care Routine

Hi blog friends!!

I love skin care, I probably have more skin care items than make up, I think I might be addicted to it haha! But some days I really cannot be bothered with properly cleansing and doing my whole routine, because I just want to get into bed, eat chocolate and watch Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (side note BEST. SHOW. EVER.), and that means having to be a little bit lazy when it comes to skin care. Oh and when I say quick, I mean QUICK!!

The first product I use in my quick skin care routine is my favourite Micellar water, Garnier Micellar Cleansing water for combination skin. This is my go to cleansing water for realz! It does the job perfectly and my skin feels so refreshed and clean after using it.
I just take a cotton pad (or more depending on if I was wearing make up during the day etc), splash the cleansing water on it, wipe it on and voila, done!

Next is a product I have been wanting to try for SO long now, and I finally got my hands on it. It is the Pixi Glow Tonic, now yes I know I'm very late to the party but this product has saved my skin, I swear! I LOVE the smell and they way it makes my skin feel after using it, I don't think I will ever use another toner again (sorry Body Shop Seaweed Toner).

Now, because this is quick I do tend to miss out my serum because I usually can't be bothered to pat it into my skin and wait for it to dry etc, so I just move straight onto moisturiser. I will sometimes use my Soap & Glory Speed Plump Overnight Moisture Mousse but recently I have only been reaching for my Kiehls Skin Rescuer. It is so light and smells really lovely, I feel like this moisturiser has really evened out my skin and does help to get rid of redness, especially around my nose and on the apples of my cheeks.

Lastly I just pop on my Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment and bam I am done with my skincare! It really is that simple and it takes me about 5-10 minutes rather than like half an hour!

If you would like to see my full night time skin care routine just comment down below! I love all these products, so quick and convenient for when you really just want to jump in bed and relax!
What are your favourite skin care items?!

Lots of love

Life | My Blogging Experience & 100th Post!

Hi blog friends!!

Wow, seriously long time no speak! I'm blaming my dissertation for this one BUT I finally hit 10,000 words so I'm giving myself a little break from work (little break meaning the weekend) to slowly get back into the swing of blogging again. ALSO HOW IS IT MAY ALREADY?!

I feel like I haven't done a chatty/rambly post in so long and sometimes it's really therapeutic to just sit down (or lay in bed which I'm totally not doing now or anything) and talk to you guys.

First off this is my 100th blog post and it will be my blogs 1st birthday in a couple of days which is honestly mental I can't believe I've been doing this for a whole year! So I though I would share my blogging experience and how I have found it so far and my thoughts on it all, this post might be pretty long so if it is, you've been warned!

I started my blog on 8th May 2015, literally out the blue I just said to myself one day I'm going to start a blog as an online diary and so I just did it. I didn't even think anything of it to be honest, just somewhere I could write down my feelings and what I did that day etc, but it rapidly turned into something completely different, I started writing more about beauty and lifestyle and of course my favourite subject Disney and that has just stuck!

Now, I am a tiny tiny tiny blogger in the bloggersphere, I have seen people grow their blogs immensely in a year but I never expected to even get 1 follower, let alone 407! It blows me away that 407 out there want to read what I have to say, I think that it is something I will never comprehend and I'm so grateful.

My experience as a blogger hasn't been what everyone assumes blogging is like, I've never been to a blogger event, I've been sent a few items but nothing on the scale of other bloggers, I've never met any bloggers, I've never worked with a brand etc.
But to me, it doesn't matter I write because I love to write I never started KDL with the sole purpose of wanting free things or going to glitzy events (if I'm honest I didn't even know that was a part of blogging). I think people have a very small minded view of what blogging is, people seem to think it's just an opportunity to get free stuff, well it isn't because you have to work damn hard to see rewards like that!

The one thing I would say is the hardest about blogging (for me personally, I know some people are great at this) is scheduling and actually having time to write up posts and having great ideas and original content. For me that is probably the hardest thing especially being a uni I get so caught up in my academic work, for big chunks of time my blog really suffers and is almost pushed to the back of my thoughts because I just don't have time to take pictures, edit them and write up posts for the whole week. But when I do find time to blog I love it, I love writing about things I'm passionate about, it's just finding the time to do it!

Another thing about blogging that I find difficult is making and keeping friends within the community.
I see on Twitter all the time these bloggers that are always hanging out or going to visit each other and for some reason it makes me feel left out! It's extremely irrational I know, but I just feel like I have no real friends within the community and even in the Disney blogger community, it almost seems like it's an exclusive club and I just don't fit in! I don't know if other bloggers feel like this but it's just something I've noticed.

But I don't want this to be a negative post as I have loved every second of blogging, I mean I wouldn't have 100 posts if I didn't yanno! So I just wanted to say to anyone who reads this or has read any of my other posts, thank you so much!

What are your thoughts on blogging?!

Lot of love

Lifestyle | My Current Top 5 #2

Hi blog friends!!

I did a post like this last month and I really liked it! I thought instead of doing a favourites at the end of every month or so, I thought I would share my top 5 current things I'm loving! So kind of like a favourites post but kind of not?! Haha

So I chose my top 5 from a few different categories including my favourite album right now and my favourite lip product! So here are my top 5 current obsessions!

My current favourite body lotion:

I am seriously loving the Garnier Honey Treasures body lotion for very dry skin. The smell is absolutely incredible I just want to eat it (I won't but I could!). I actually got a sample of this in Glamour and didn't think anything about it but thought I'd just try it out and as soon as I opened it I fell in love.
There are two main things I love about this product, one is that the smell stays ALL day and I seriously mean ALL DAY! I can still smell this on my skin when I go to bed and two this product actually got rid of my eczema, not even prescribed creams have done that so it has extra brownie points for that! Seriously go check this product out!

My current favourite lip product:

I have never tried lip plumpers before, I've always been kind of scared they'll hurt but this Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Extreme-Plump has a really nice tingle that doesn't hurt at all!
I was also pretty sceptical that it wasn't going to do anything, but it does actually plump my lips, but only slightly so it is very natural which is perfect! I just swipe this over my lipstick to give my lips that extra bit of volume, the gloss is clear so it doesn't ruin it either!

My current favourite foundation:

I know a lot of people have spoken about this product and I can totally see why people rave about it. It is the Vichy Dermablend foundation (corrector fluid if we're being pedantic)!
This is a full coverage base that covers EVERYTHING, E V E R Y T H I N G! I got the shade 25 which is actually just a tad too dark but I make it work haha.
This is perfect for a night out as it stays in place for 16 hours and is totally breathable. I just wish the bottle was a bit bigger!

My current favourite health product:

Since I have started to work out again (I'm using Results with Lucy and I can't recommend it enough) I thought I would try out some of the Mini V Nutrition products.
I had already tried Mini:Burn before and loved them, but thought I would get some of the Mini:Shakes and Mini:Bars to have after my workouts and I am loving them!
The shakes are SO delicious (especially the chocolate silk one) and perfect for after a workout, they're also perfect handbag size so you don't have to carry around a massive bottle of protein shake!
I really recommend checking these products out as an aid to getting fit and healthy!

My current favourite album:

Okay so this has been one of my favourite albums for SO long but since I just had to write an essay for my uni Beatles module I have been listening to it non stop!
It is A Hard Day's Night by The Beatles. I know that not everyone likes The Beatles but if I could urge you to listen to just one album it would be this one and if I had to recommend one song it would Any Time At All! That is up there with my favourite songs of all time (although nothing will beat Bohemian Rhapsody).
This album is just full of classic hits and George Harrison gives me the feels *heart eyes emoji* (sorry Bob).

I love doing these top 5's, so look out for another one next month!

What are you loving right now?!

Lots of love

Disney | The Disney Princess Tag ♡

Hi blog friends!!

I was tagged by the wonderful Jade from Outside The Tower to do this tag, and I do love a good tag, especially if it involves Disney and Princesses!!
I'm so excited to do this one, oh and if you want to read Jade's answers just click here!! So here we go...

1) Which Princess do you like the least?

I have discussed my dislike for this character before on KDL, so it may not come as a surprise that it's Ariel! I just do not like her attitude at all!

2) Which Princess do you adore the most?

Again no shocker if you've read KDL for a while, Belle! She is just so perfect, how could you not adore her?!

3) Which Princess do you relate to the most?

I think a lot of people will say this but definitely Rapunzel! All she wants is to have fun and I can totally relate to that! Plus I have blonde hair haha!

4) Which side kick do you wish you had?

Mushu because he is so funny and I'd love to have him to motivate me haha!

5) Which best friend(s) would you like to hang out with?

Either Pascal or Mushu

6) Which Prince would love you?

Beast for sure or maybe Phillip I can't choose

7) Which parents would raise you?

King David & Queen Leah (Aurora's parents) because they seem so cute and I reckon they'd be really fun

8) Which castle do you want to live in?

Aurora's castle obviously! IT'S PINK or maybe Rapunzel's

9) Which dress do you wish you could own?

Belle's yellow ball gown is my dream dress

10) Which voice do you wish you had?

Either Pocahontas or Tiana! They have incredible voices

11) Which two Princesses would be best friends?

Probably Aurora and Belle because I think they are both really chilled and I can just see them getting on really well

12) Which two Princesses do you think would hate each other?

I reckon Merida and Snow would not get on at all, as Merida is very independent and don't need no man whereas that's all Snow wants!

13) Which two sidekicks would make a good duo?

Meeko and Pascal because they are both cheeky and I reckon they would cause loads of mischief!

14) Which two Princes would be best buds?

Beast (in human form) and Phillip and then they could go on double dates

15) Which scene makes you cry?

There's two, first one is the classic lantern scene in Tangled when the sing I See The Light oh my god I can't help but ball my eyes out it's so beautiful and second is when Ray dies in Princess and the Frog

16) Which scene makes you cheer?

When Merida fights for her own hand, I'm like yaaasssss girl you don't need no man!!!!

17) Which movie is your favourite soundtrack?

Princess and the Frog, Tangled and Beauty and the Beast!

18) Which scene makes you cringe?

When Ariel sees Eric for the first time I can't help but cringe haha

19) Which story do you wish was your life?

Honestly, none! All the princesses have to handle villains and all sorts of crazy other things but if I had to choose probably Cinderella because at the end when you get the better life you can be like haha KARMA!!!

20) Which movie do you love the most?

Beauty and the Beast will always be my favourite Princess film BUT I do love them all (even The Little Mermaid, just a lot less than the others haha) because who doesn't love a Princess and a happy ending!!

So there you have it, the Disney Princess Tag! Thank you Jade for tagging me in this I had so much fun writing all my answers!
I tag anyone who wants to do it because I'd love read everyones answers!

Who is your favourite Disney Princess?

Lots of love
