First Ever Post

Hi blog friends!!

I'm Katy, i'm 20 years old and I am about to go into my 3rd year of university. I am studying Screen Media at St Mary's University in Twickenham, London.

I have been thinking about starting a blog for many moons, so i've taken the plunge and done it, first of all how confusing is it to find a good template, I swear I have been looking for what seems like a year haha! Anyway so as I was saying I have been inspired to create a blog about a few personal things which I hope might help a few people and also my life in general.

I happen to suffer from a disease (although that might be an over statement ha) called Coeliac Disease and for those who don't know it means that I am allergic to gluten. I would just like to point out I have been diagnosed with it and I am not choosing it as a lifestyle choice. Being a coeliac means I cannot eat some of my all time favourite foods like pizza (massive sad face), lasagne (even bigger sad face) and cake (tears). Being only 20 years old, a student and having this disease means that sometimes I find it hard to buy food and even go out for dinner with my friends, which is one of my favourite past-times...eating I mean! I hate feeling like I am being fussy because I have never been a fussy eater (and my dad can verify) so being hit with this was a real shock for me. Now when I go food shopping I have to spend time looking at every single ingredient as the consequences of eating gluten are well grim to put it lightly, I have read loads of blogs about being a coeliac and great recipes that are gluten, wheat and sometimes dairy free (although I am not lactose intolerant) however all these recipes contain crazy ingredients that as a student I cannot buy as a bag of quinoa is about the same price as my rent!!! I mean it's not but you get my gist! So I want to make a blog that is accessible for young coeliacs with student budget friendly food/advice and I just want to state that I am in no way saying that I know absolutely everything about being gluten free, I don't i'm still learning everyday, like the other day I found out there's gluten in soy sauce (who knew, not that I use it but still ha).

That isn't all I want my blog to be about though like I said I would like to include things about my daily life that might/might not be interesting! I'm not even sure if anyone will read this but even if one person does that would make me full of warm fuzziness and make me smile!

So I hope you have enjoyed my little introduction to my bloggy blog where I will blog things! I hope you had/are having a great day/night!

Lots of love
