We're Going To The Zoo

Hi blog friends!!

So over the last couple of days I haven't really been up to that much apart from yesterday when Bob and I went to the Dartmoor Zoological Park and if any of you have seen the film 'We Bought a Zoo' with Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson, this is the zoo that the film is based on! It was such a fun day and I love going to the zoo and seeing all the animals although it's probably better when you're younger and can't actually see that the animals don't look very happy and have gone a bit mental by being trapped in a cage BUT apart from that I love the zoo and it was a really lovely day!

We left around midday and stopped at Morrisons to grab a few things to keep us going so we got some apple and blackcurrant juice boxes, some dried fruit and seeds, some dried apple crisps (which are amazing) and Bob got a twix and I got a twirl (cheeky I know but we couldn't resist)

When we got to the zoo, which is only about half an hours drive we were definitely ready for some food so after looking at the capybara (our new fave word) we headed over to the cafe, outside the cafe there was a pen with meerkats in and they had the most adorable baby meerkats ever they were so small and I just wanted to grab one and bring it home! So after spending about 15 minutes heart eyes emojiing over baby meerkats we decided to get some food! Bob had a BBQ burger with chips and I had a massive bowl of cheesy chips and I don't even care they were delicious haha! When we'd finished lunch we saw that there was going to be a Birds of Prey talk/show so we went into the petting area to kill some time and we saw bunnies, pygmy goats, we petted a deer and saw the cutest wallaby! By then it was nearly time for the talk to start so we sat down on the big front lawn in the blazing sunshine and watched the show, we saw an owl, a falcon and hawk which was exciting! After the show was finished we started to walk around the zoo, it's not a big zoo at all so it didn't take very long to walk around but they have a great variety of animals including my two favourites, wolves and tigers!

So that was my day yesterday, I had such a great time and the weather was perfect although it did mean we couldn't see every animal as some were at the back of their enclosures having a sunbathe, but we can forgive them for that as the sun only appears in Devon once every 5 years haha! Hope everyone is having a brilliant day!

Lots of love

The Devon County Show

Hi blog friends!!

So yesterday my dad and I did something really exciting, we woke up super early and headed to The Devon County Show! Now for anyone who doesn't know, a county show is held over 3 days and it is where the best animals in the county come to be judged in their specific classes and there is loads of local food and crafts and lots of stands for cars and farm machinery and honestly it is the best day out ever! Dad and I had never been to the Devon show before, we've been to the Royal Cornwall Show a few times now and we thought it was silly as we're from Devon not Cornwall (and if you don't know there is a massive rivalry between Devon & Cornwall, Devon are better haha) so since we weren't doing anything we thought we'd go and I am SO glad we did it was the best day and the weather was beautiful it was really hot and so so sunny which put everyone in a great mood!

When we got there the first thing we went to see was the horse shoeing competition, where 4 horse shoe makers were given 1 hour to fully shoe a horse and it was amazing to watch from the furnace to the making of the shoe to the way they put it on was so interesting and something i'd never seen before! We then had a wander around all the stands and oh my gosh I saw so many dogs it was heavenly! We then went into the arts and crafts tent and there was a stand that was selling the cutest fairy lights they looked like little lanterns and really cute bird cage candle holders and mason jar cups, we also picked up the most amazing fudge I got Nutella & peanut butter and dad got marzipan covered in chocolate and we also got clotted cream to share also while we were there I met one of my best friends who I hadn't seen in ages so we had a lovely catch up! The next big tent we went into was the food and drink tent and oh my Devon produces some amazing food, the smell of pasties and cider filled the air and it was beautiful, whilst we were in there we saw Princess Anne as well! We then headed back to the main arena to watch The Bolddog Lings FMX Team perform, they are the motor cross team that were on Britain's Got Talent in series 8 which was really good, some of the stunts they did were seriously awesome, after that the Royal Marines Band played and they were brilliant they are some very talented people!! I was getting hungry after all the excitement, dad had already grabbed a steak and stilton pasty in the food tent but since I can't eat pasties or any of the amazing smelling hog roasts (sobs loudly) I decided to just grab some chips and we sat and watched a young persons orchestra they did songs like uptown funk and all about that bass so that was fun!

After food it was definitely time to look at animals, firstly we headed to the non-dairy goat tent and they were so loud and very soft, there was a man feeding them crackers and they were going crazy for those crackers haha! There was a tractor judging going on in the main cattle showing area which was funny only in Devon ey! So we went to the cattle shed and for as far as the eye could see was cows, cows and more cows. This is my dads favourite part of county shows he loves looking at the cows especially the Aberdeen Angus as he is from Aberdeen the little cutie! Some of the bulls were absolutely massive and when I say massive they are like the size of a car! We also saw a cow being milked and you could literally see her udder going down it was really weird haha, after cows was pigs and they were adorable I love pigs just the little noises they make and they also had a pen of 4 week old piglets so I spent a lot of time there just swooning over them haha but they were super cute! Next was dairy goats and they were absolutely adorable, there was one small brown goat who kept nibbling my jumper and he was just precious, every time we went to leave he would jump up and put his 2 front legs on the gate so we could stroke him, I wanted to steal him he was so cute, I even named him nibbles! So next was sheep, when we got there it turned out there was some judging going on so we stopped and watched that, we were watching the Greyfaced Dartmoor class and my friend who I met earlier was helping show so we watched that and she got 4th place so we cheered her on! After sheep came bees, poultry, bunnies and cavys (guinea pigs)! We then wanted to go back to the main arena as the Bolddog Lings were performing again except this time they performed on tiny bikes which was very funny so we grabbed some drinks, I got a mint choc chip milkshake and dad got a coffee and we went and watched that, since it was getting quite late and we had seen everything in the showground we decided to leave, but we couldn't go without getting an ice cream, dad got salted caramel and I got surprise surprise mint choc chip haha!

We honestly had the best day ever and I would urge everyone to go to their local county show, it's such a great day out for both adults and kids. You also learn so much about your county, the animals and all the local food and drink which is so lovely! The Devon County Show is on till Saturday 23rd May so if you can go please do, The Royal Cornwall Show is on 4th, 5th & 6th June so I think i'll be heading to that as it's just before holiday! Anyway I hope you enjoyed this post about my day and I hope it has made you want to go, hope everyone is well and you're having a great day!

A Handful Of Beauty Favourites

Hi blog friends!!

I hope everyone is well this fine Thursday, I thought I would quickly share with you a few of my fave beauty products at the moment, this is not all of them just a hand full that I have really been loving!

1. Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette: Now this isn't in any way new I got this palette for christmas and used it a couple of times and I loved it but never really took full advantage of it but recently I have been using it so much more as I want to start wearing more eye shadow, I have never really been that big on it but after sussing out what looks good for my skin colour and eye colour I have really been loving it! My favourite shades are: Dust, Buzz and Trick!

2. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: This is without a doubt my favourite way of taking off make up! It is so quick and easy and leaves my skin feeling so fresh and free of grime and dirt, it has no perfume which is really nice as well as some make up removers and cleansers have a chemical kind of smell but this so fresh and nice, I don't think i'll ever use anything else!

3. The Body Shop Honeymania Hand Cream: I have never used a hand cream before, well properly, I have the Soap & Glory Hand Food but I bought it and used it about three times, but this hand cream smells AMAZING! It leaves my hands feeling so silky soft and the scent stays on them for so long as well! It's just overall a really great product and I will definitely repurchase after I have used it all up!

4. Marks & Spencers Autograph New York Fragrance: I would have never in a million years picked this out for myself but I got this for christmas about 2 years ago and thought nothing of it, I thought it would have an old lady scent if you get what I mean since it was from M&S but this smells so yummy it's quite a dark scent almost like Lady Million by Paco Rabanne, someone even said they thought I was wearing Lady Million when I was wearing this the other week!

5. Nivea Q10 'Goodbye Cellulite' Serum: Now this serum is beautifully light not like other serums and absorbs into the skin super quickly! It has a really nice scent that isn't too overpowering and is overall a fantastic product! I had my suspicions about it as it claims to rid you of cellulite in 10 days and I can tell you now it does what it says on the tin (or bottle). I have been using this on my tummy at night for about 8 days now and I can already see the difference, not only is my tummy tighter but my stretchmarks and cellulite are fading so quickly as well! 10/10 from me!!!

6. Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion: Again this product is fabulous does exactly what it says on the bottle, this one takes 2 weeks to show results and like I said I have been using it for 8 days now and I can definitely see improvements on my tummy and my arms!!

7. The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser: Lastly is this vibrant coloured pot of joy! Firstly it smells amazing so fruity and fresh it really wakes you up in the morning, not just from the smell but it's so cooling on the skin it really is a burst of energy! It's a lovely texture really light and absorbs very easily and quickly into the skin! I have never tried a Body Shop moisturiser so I am really pleased with this so far!

So there you go just a glimpse at some of my beauty favourites! What are some of your beauty favourites and have you tried any of mine?! I'd love to know!

Holiday Shopping!

Hi blog friends!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but I have been pretty busy and I was also ill so that wasn't fun but I thought i'd post today about when Bob and I went shopping for our holiday which is in 18 days (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee)!!!

We decided to go to Exeter instead of Plymouth just because Exeter has Urban Outfitters and Hollister and we wanted to go in them, so Exeter it was! We got in around lunch time so we decided to start by grabbing some food, we went to Giraffe which was delicious! We both got the Mexican Breakfast, which was re-fried beans, sweetcorn and chorizo in this yummy spicy sauce all covered in cheese on top of a tortilla (mine was gluten free so mine was on 2 corn tortillas) then it was served with scrambled eggs and an avocado salsa, to drink I had a fresh lemonade with mint and Bob had an apple and elderflower and for pudding we had milkshakes I had salted caramel and bob had rocky road and mine was literally so delicious I could drink it all day long and become very fat haha!

After brunch we started shopping and when I say shopping I mean proper shopping we bought SO much, but it's all for holiday so it acceptable! Firstly I went to New Look and got a few things, I have wanted the watermelon clutch bag for sooooo long and I think it will look so cute on holiday so here's what I got in New Look

How cute is that clutch and the white bardot top it is so comfy girls!! After New Look I headed over to Cath Kidston as I have been wanting a sturdy/cute backpack/rucksack for so long so I can take it to uni and Bob found the cutest one which you can also carry so it's super handy!

I love love love the pattern it's just so pretty! After Cath we headed over to Hollister where I needed to pick up a body spray for my dad haha! I had a browse and they have some lovely stuff at the moment, but Bob was looking at the men's sale stuff and picked up a really lovely light jumper and a beaut mint coloured shirt (in the picture its orange but its the same shirt I just couldn't find a picture of the mint one haha)

We then had a browse around a few more shops and I got some flip flops and a top from Primark and then I popped into The Body Shop and picked up some things I have been wanting for ages including the drops of youth bouncy sleep mask which I used last night and my skin feels amazing today! So here's what I picked up!

We then decided it would be a good idea to pick up all our holiday toiletries from Wilko's instead of Superdrug or Boots as it would be ten times more expensive so we got all our sun creams, after suns, first aid kind of things and few extras and i'm not joking the bag was MASSIVE haha but it was so much cheaper! Oh I do love Wilko's me! So finally we headed over to Next for Bob as he wanted to grab some shorts and ended up buying two pairs of shorts, a t-shirt and a pair of trousers haha!

I love the colours of the shorts, he already has a blue pair so I think he is sorted on the short front haha! When we got back into the car I took a picture of all our bags as we had so many, but it just signals a very successful shopping trip!

The next day (so yesterday) we didn't do much at all I was feeling quite ill and had a really awful headache but we made pancakes in the morning then we came up to my dads house and spent the day here just chilling out which was nice and we had the yummiest fish pie for dinner and watched Eastenders haha! We also watched a documentary on BBC1 called The Dog Factory which was all about dog farming and it was so upsetting because if you know me you'll know I have fond love for puppies and dogs in general but it was really eye opening so go catch that on BBC iPlayer! So that's been the last few days, hope everyone is well and you're having a fantastic day!

Ice Cream Cupcakes

Hi blog friends!!

So yesterday dad and I got up early and took a trip to our nearest Tesco as I wanted to do some baking. For breakfast surprise surprise I had porridge with cinnamon, honey and apple it's just so good! So I grabbed everything I needed for baking and can I just say that Tesco is so expensive now, I needed an ice cream scoop as I was making cupcakes and the cheapest one was £3 THREE POUNDS FOR AN ICE CREAM SCOOP!!!! But anyway we also did the weekly shop and we grabbed some reduced sea bass fillets to have for dinner and damn they were good.

When we got home I decided I would just crack on with making the cupcakes and for them I used:

4oz of melted butter (I used stork)
4oz of caster sugar
4oz of gluten free self raising flour (I used dove but you don't have to use gluten free)
3tsp milk
2 medium eggs
A few drops of vanilla essence

Preheat the oven at 190 degrees and put your cupcake cases in your bun tin (I used these super cute spotty ones from Tesco) then you put the sugar and flour in a bowl and then melt the butter either on the hob or I just did it in the microwave for about 1 minute add the eggs, milk, vanilla and butter and start stirring I used a wooden spoon as my dad doesn't have an electric mixer but obviously you can use a kitchen aid or electric hand mixer, mix until the mixture is all smooth (the mixture will be runny don't worry) with no lumps or bumps then spoon the mixture into your cases, I used an ice cream scoop for this as it gives exactly the right amount of mixture but you can use a spoon, then put those in the oven for 18-20 minutes I did 19 and that was perfect for mine then left them to cool. Once they had cooled down completely I decorated them and as it is nearly summer I decided to make them look like little 99 ice creams, now i'm a massive cheat and i'm terrible at making icing so I bought the Betty Crocker buttercream icing (which is beyond delicious), I spooned that on top of the cupcakes (I really should have piped as that would have looked better but oh well haha) and then put lots of sprinkles on them and then added a small flake and they do look super cute I was very happy with them and they taste great you wouldn't even know they were gluten free!

Once I had finished decorating them my boyfriend came over (specifically for cupcakes haha) but he wasn't over for long as he had to go back to work, then dad and I started making dinner which was amazing, we put the sea bass skin side up with some olive oil and salt on top of some baking parchment and put it in the oven for 7 minutes and voila done we had it on a bed of salad and some new potatoes with a lemon and mustard sauce, it was super delicious, really quick and so easy! I also got really bored last night so decided to do my make up then take it off again haha does anyone else do that when they're bored just put on loads of make up then take it off haha! Anyway hope everyone is well and you're all having fantastic days!

Homebase, Next Home & B&Q

Hi blog friends!!

It's been a few days, so thought i'd just keep you up to date!

So on Thursday my dad and I decided to get out the house and go to Homebase (exciting) as dad wanted look at a few things like tiles and flooring as he is in the process of doing up the house, he has just finished our living room and it looks amazing, he finished the wallpapering today and it honestly looks fantastic, I really admire my dad he's so inspirational! So anyway we had a look around and I decided to grab two things, I got an apple blossom room spray which smells divine and a cute bleached wooden heart to hang on my bedroom door, they were both very inexpensive the heart was £2.99 and the room spray was around £4 so we had a browse and we found out that finally our Homebase is getting an in-store Habitat shop which is amazing as Habitat stuff is beaut!

After that we were super hungry so went to the new Costa that has just opened and I had a peach iced lemonade and a chicken and basil gluten free wrap which has got a lot tastier as before it was so dry and bland and my dad had a cappuccino and a chicken and bacon toastie. Once we'd finished lunch we headed over to the Next Home shop and we picked up some new cushions for the living room and I got myself a strawberries and cream scented reed diffuser which smells AHmazing I was also going to get the candle but I told myself I need to stop buying them right now as I have a few to burn.

We then went to B&Q so my dad could pick up some wallpaper glue and stuff and at the self checkout it beeped because he needed to be over 21 to buy it which made us and the check out attendant laugh a lot! That night I was going to do some exercise but I was aching from Wednesday's workout so gave it a miss, dad made a tasty Red Thai Curry with pork and rice and we watched the second installment of the BBC1 documentary 'Shark' which was really good if you haven't seen it catch up on iPlayer its really interesting!

Today has been pretty boring, I haven't done an awful lot since my dad was busy I thought i'd get out the way and went to my mum's house which is around the corner to do a workout! I also made a really good decision this morning with my porridge choice I put cinnamon, honey and apple in it and it tasted incredible! So after my workout I watched some Bob's Burgers and caught up on the Sacconejoly's vlogs, had a shower and tidied my bedroom all very exciting things. So now i'm finally going to start reading Girl Online and relax, i'm also going to browse online for holiday clothes as our holiday is fast approaching!! Hope you all had fantastic days!

Mental Health Awareness Week

Hi blog friends!!

Two blog posts in one day aren't you lucky! Now this post is going to be about mental health as from the 11th - 17th May 2015 it is mental health awareness week, and I just want to say I am in no way saying that I know everything about mental health I just want to share my experiences with you! Now this is going to be very hard for me as I have never spoken to any of my friends or anyone really about it but I feel like I need to share this so other people might not feel so alone!

I suffer with anxiety and I know a lot of people say they suffer with this and it may seem like one of those things where people jump on the bandwagon but anxiety affects so many people whether it is just a small amount of anxiety about exams or whether you suffer to the extremes, anxiety is anxiety and should be treated with sensitivity and understanding as sometimes I don't even understand why I get anxious.

My experience with anxiety started when I was 6/7 years old and I was moving from my pre-prep school to my big prep school. At the time I obviously didn't know I was suffering with anxiety but my anxiety triggered me to start pulling out my hair as a source of comfort, it didn't matter if it hurt I would constantly pull out my hair and when my teachers and mum noticed they kept an eye on me as I would pull it out all the time non stop, I think they thought I was just nervous and I would stop as soon as I settled into school but it didn't I continued to pull out my hair whenever I felt nervous or I felt anxious about something like exams or sports matches. I left my prep school when I was 10 and started at my local secondary school which was the scariest time of my life as I was moving to a school which had 1800 students and I knew no one, I was a small fish in a very very big pond, as you can imagine this triggered my anxiety again and before I started I began to pull out not only my hair but my eyelashes as well, as the pain was more comforting than pulling out my hair and as disgusting as this sounds I would then eat them. This made my mum so angry and she thought I was doing it for attention because at one point I had about 2 eyelashes on each eye this then made me so so anxious and embarrassed because I looked so stupid and I was constantly getting sore eyes because there was nothing there to keep the dirt out. My mum took me to the doctors when I was in year 9 about it but even the doctor couldn't figure why I was doing it (which in hindsight means they were a pretty rubbish doctor haha) and that made me feel like such a freak (for lack of a better word) I was randomly pulling out my hair and eyelashes for no reason, so why couldn't I stop why couldn't I just not do it anymore I felt like such a let down, like something was wrong with me and nothing or no one could fix me, this made me feel really down and I felt like nothing was ever going to get better. The next time it got worse again was when I was about to go to university, I pulled out my whole fringe, all of my eyelashes and most of my eyebrows I had never felt this anxious about anything in my whole life I was so nervous and scared the only way to calm myself down was to pull out any kind of hair and feel a bit of pain. I finally realised that this time was different and I couldn't ever let it get this bad again so I went online and typed in my symptoms and looked for help and any advice as to what was happening to me and I came across a website about a condition called Trichotillomania where anxiety causes sufferers to pull out their facial and head hair and usually starts around age 7, as soon as I saw this, suddenly I felt like I wasn't alone so I searched and searched for more information about it and as I read more and more people's stories I began to realise I actually had something and I wasn't being silly or attention seeking. I read an article about noticing when you are about to pull and it said to keep your hands busy and your mind focused on positive good things and another about asking yourself why you are about to pull and what it will achieve as eye lashes take 4 weeks to grow so every time you pull one single eyelash you add another 4 weeks to your recovery, these tips made me want to try and change. I also found out that one of my friends from school also has the condition which made me realise I really wasn't alone, so I spoke to her and we talked about our experiences and how we are dealing with it and it made me feel so much better knowing I have someone to talk to!

I still pull now but I have stopped dramatically, at the very moment I write this my eyebrows are very thin because of all the work I had to finish for the end of second year but now it doesn't make me upset or feel alienated because I know that other people have the same condition as me. Blogging is helping me keep my hands busy as well which is something I really needed, I still suffer from anxiety and I do suffer from panic attacks I nearly had one the other day in Carphone Warehouse as I felt so anxious when I couldn't find a phone charger and I felt like everyone was looking at me and talking about me (even though the shop was completely empty) so I asked my boyfriend to leave, but back to the point I wanted to share a glimpse into my story to show you that there are so many different types of mental illnesses and it doesn't mean you're 'crazy' or 'mental' just because I have anxiety doesn't make me a different person. So I want to extend my hand to other people who not only have Trichotillomania but other anxiety related conditions and tell you that I am here if you want to talk or ask questions or whatever!

Sorry this post has been so wordy and long but this was really hard for me to write so if you want to ask any questions feel free to comment! Mental health is something that needs to be taken seriously as you never know how it affects people and for some it takes over their whole lives.

Lots of love

Cookies, Chiquito's & Avengers

Hi blog friends!!

So I thought I would do a quick post about last night, as I said in my last post me and my boyfriend went out for dinner and afterwards we went to see a film!

We decided to go to Chiquito's which is one of our faves and because it is delicious! They also do amazing cocktails there and if you haven't tried them I urge you to go, they have a massive selection and they are super yummy! So I decided to get a classic cosmopolitan (I ended up having 2 actually oops!) and Bob had a Corona with lime! Like I said in my last post Chiquito's now do a gluten free menu and it has so much choice and not just three bland options you get everywhere else, so that is really nice to see that they're catering for people like me who really wouldn't be able to eat a lot in there! (I had a picture of the menu but it doesn't want to work so that's annoying) I ended up getting the gluten free BBQ chicken fajitas which were honestly incredible, they were so delicious and Bob had the Philly steak baked wrap which I have previously had (before I was gluten free) and that is super yummy as well, but because just before we left we ate the cookies (1 each not all of them haha) that I made we both struggled to finish our meals but nevertheless they were really good quality and really tasty!

Oh and here is one of the cookies (half eaten) I made from Tanya's book, they were incredible! Everyone needs to go buy her book and make them!

So after dinner we went to see Avengers: Age of Ultron, now I knew I was going to enjoy this movie as I am a massive Marvel fan but this film blew me away, as a film student I can definitely appreciate when a film is good and this film was simply incredible, from the CGI and special effects to the script to Joss Whedon's classic use of slow motion everything was flawless! If you haven't already seen this film I urge you to go even if you haven't seen the first one just go because it is amazing!!

So that's really it I just wanted to tell you guys about my evening, i'm not really doing much today as Bob is at work and my dad is painting the living room so I might do some exercise and then have a bath! I had another amazing bowl of porridge this morning (wow sorry I realise how boring that sounds haha) but this one had apple, banana, almond butter, honey and peanut butter and it was super tasty, hope you all have fantastic days!!

Shopping Shopping and more Shopping!

Hi blog friends!!

So over the past few days I have been quite busy, well I say busy I have just done more things than I would usually do haha!

On Sunday my boyfriend and I went to Plymouth shopping as I needed to pick up a few things so we left early and had breakfast in Costa which was yummy, I had a small hazelnut latte and a pot of yoghurt with passion fruit and mango compote and Bob had a medium caramel cappuccino and a sausage and caramelised onion toastie which looked amazing and he also got a piece of chocolate tiffin which also looked amazing!

After breakfast we did some shopping and I specifically went in to get Bob an anniversary present as we will have been together for a year next month, so trying to buy him a present whilst he was there was a challenge but I did it! I also bought a pair of shorts and a skirt from New Look for our holiday next month, as well as some Moschino sunglasses from TKMaxx (my favourite place ever) and also some super cute round pink spotty sunglasses by Quay which is a make I have never heard of but they were way too cute not to buy (monkey hands over eyes emoji)

On Monday Bob came over for breakfast and we made gluten free pancakes which were delicious, we then had to go into our local town to sort out our holiday as we have had some issues with our hotel as it was being refurbished and was meant to open on the 1st May but still hasn't opened yet so we had to go and see what was going on, we also picked up a brochure for Disney Land Paris as we are thinking of going for my 21st birthday so I can become a princess finally and I have always wanted to meet Belle so it would be perfect! We then went to Costa and I had a yummy peach iced lemonade which I think will be my new summer fave from there, after I went to Superdrug to get some more Garnier micellar water, I also picked up some of the new Nivea Q10 firming body range for half price which was great so I got the 'goodbye cellulite' serum and the firming body lotion as well as some coconut body spray and 3 travel wash bags, I then went to WHSmiths where I finally got a copy of Girl Online by Zoe Sugg (Zoella) and Tanya Burr's new book Love Tanya as hardbacks were reduced to £9 each, I have already read most of Tan's book and it is so good I am definitely going to be making her signature triple chocolate cookies later on (of course making them gluten free)! When I got home I was super hungry and so I decided to make a smoothie in my Blend Active using strawberries, a banana, blackberries, almond milk, gluten free oats and some LucyBee coconut oil and it was super delicious, I even got a re-tweet from Lucy herself!

Today has been very chilled, I had such a long lie in which was lush and then I made a yummy bowl of porridge using gluten free oats and almond milk topping it with a banana, left over blackberries, honey and almond butter (which is delicious if you haven't tried it) and to drink I had a small glass of the dark chocolate almond milk which is incredible!

Bob is now here watching me write this and eating cake (I think he only came over for the cake haha) but later on we are heading out for dinner, hopefully to either Pizza Express so I can have my fave salad or to Chiquitos where they now have a fab new gluten free menu then we are going to see the new Avengers film as neither of us have seen it, which is strange for me as I am such a huge Marvel fan, so I am really excited for that! Hope you're having a great day and will blog soon!!

First Day Of Summer!

Hi blog friends!!

So today was super fun, since I moved back to Devon for summer I finally got to spend some time with my boyfriend before he had to go to work! We didn't even do anything particularly fun we literally went food shopping at Morrisons, ate nearly a whole tub of Ben & Jerrys and ate cake, well he ate cake and I had a gluten free brownie haha! Just to make it clear we don't live together this all happened at my dad's house!

I didn't realise how good the Morrisons free from section is, like I said I got myself a treat in the form of gooey gluten free brownies (this beach body is slowly slipping away), I also got myself some gluten free oats and oh my gosh my favourite find today was Alpro almond milk in dark chocolate flavour, my taste buds are already tingling!! I also found a pot of cottage cheese that is bigger than my head and I am ashamed to say that I got way too excited but I can't help it I love cottage cheese haha! I was also super hungry so picked up some lunch whilst we were there and I just got a sushi fish selection, a bag of apples and grapes and a yellow oasis to drink, I was also really bad and impulse bought a snickers at the till, curse you lack of will power *shakes fist*

I told my dad that I would cook dinner tonight so with my limited selection of cooking knowledge I decided to cook flavoured turkey thigh pieces with veg and my absolute favourite, my own sweet potato wedges! They are so so easy to make and they taste great!

Dinner recipe:

1x pack of diced turkey thigh
1x pack of sweet potatoes
Any veg you enjoy - I am using broccoli, carrots and cauliflower
Any accompaniments you want, I have crispy salad and cottage cheese

To cook the turkey I put about a teaspoon of coconut oil in a pan (I usually use LucyBee because it is just the yummiest) turn it to a medium heat and let that melt then chuck in my turkey pieces, once the turkey is pretty much cooked I throw in my veg (you can have the veg any way you want I just prefer it when its crunchy and fried) I let the veg cook for a bit then add in my spices, today I am using Chinese 5 spice this tastes super yummy and isn't spicy at all, usually I would use Thai 7 spice as that is super spicy and delicious but dad doesn't have any haha and that is the veg and turkey done this altogether should take around 10 minutes max

For my sweet potato wedges I pre heat my oven at about 180-200 degrees and put down some tin foil in the tray I am going to use, I then simply cut up 1 and a half smallish sweet potatoes into little wedge style pieces, yes mine are quite rustic (I am not good at cutting) once they are all cut up I put them in a bowl, drizzle (great word) some olive oil over them, add salt and herbs these are Italian herbs, give them a good ol' mix around (don't be afraid to use your hand) and make sure all of them are covered then chuck them onto the tray (make sure none of them are touching too much) and pop them in the oven for about 20 minutes remembering to check them frequently as they can burn easily.

And this is the finished product, all very yummy!

I hope you have enjoyed this little (or not so) post about my day, I'd love to know what you guys have been up too today and even what you had for dinner! Hope you're having a great day

Lots of love
