Life | I Got A Puppy

Hi blog friends!!

As you can tell from the title of this post, it's pretty exciting!!
A couple of months ago I came home from work to a really REALLY huge/adorable surprise. So I walk through the door and I hear a little squeak in the kitchen and I'm thinking, great the cat brought a mouse in again, UNTIL I walk in and I see my mum holding a small black and white bundle of fluff. Yes, I started crying!!
I'd come home to our beautiful new Sprocker Spaniel, Archie. A Sprocker is a cross between a Springer Spaniel and a Cocker Spaniel, so he's small like a Cocker but with the uncontrollable energy of a Springer haha!!
I have wanted a pup my whole life and I literally cannot believe he is ours! He is the most adorable trouble maker I've ever seen.
I actually named him before I knew we were getting him, as the breeder is our really close family friend who has this litter and didn't have a name for the little boy. I kept saying Archie, as that is my favourite name for a male dog and lo and behold he's our little Archie/Arch/Archie Pants/Archibald.

As I write this he is 13 weeks old and he's still soooo tiny! We can't go anywhere without people stopping and asking questions about him, but then again just look at him HE'S ADORABLE!

So without further ado, I am going to inundate you with Archie pics!

If you love Arch as much as I do, why not follow him on his own lil Instagram @ Sprocker_Archie!

Lots of love

Life | And The Worst Blogger Award Goes To...

Hi blog friends!!

Obviously the coveted prize of worst blogger would have to go to the one and only...me!

At the start of the year (I think) I made a horrific promise I could not keep, that I would blog 3 times a week. Honestly like what was I really thinking going from having all the time in the world at uni, to having very little time means writing posts, taking photos, editing photos etc takes a lot more effort, thought and total dedication, of which it seems I possess none!

What I mean by having very little time (because I know you're thinking umm what about the weekends Katy?!), well I work 9 - 5, 5 days a week, after work I come home and then head to the gym, come home eat dinner and go to bed. WOW now I have written that down I sound incredibly boring haha! SO I like to use the weekends to do actual fun things, which meant my blogging schedule was pushed further and further back until, well, it didn't exist at all!

So here is my proposition (for anyone who cares/actually reads my blog), I am going to TRY MY HARDEST to get at least 2 blog posts up a week. After I finish writing this post, I am going to brainstorm with any brain cells I have left and write until my fingers cramp up, because dang it I have missed writing, writing about beauty, writing about Disney, writing about life!

So here's to good intentions and a whole lotta hope (on which rebellions are built on please say people get that reference haha)

Love you all lots and sorry for being so rubbish over the last couple of months!

Beauty | Kylie Cosmetics Favourites

Hi blog friends!!

I haven't done a beauty post in what feels like forever, so thought it was probably time to write one!
The other day I was going through my Kylie Cosmetics collection and it dawned on me that, I actually really love every product I've bought (even if I cry when I see that customs charge).
I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite pieces.

My Top 3:

The Burgundy Palette
This palette is without a doubt my favourite eye shadow palette (bar my Modern Renaissance palette). The colours are absolutely beautiful and theres a good mix of mattes and shimmers. You can get so many looks from this palette as well, whether you want pinky/red tones, orange tones, mauve tones and done even get me started on the shimmers. 10/10 would buy again!

Smile Lip Kit
This lipstick is the most beautiful muted pink. Its dries to be a baby pink without being Barbie pink at all. I find that the formula of this lip kit is different to the others, it goes on smoother and gives a more sleek finish. The best part of this lip kit is that part of the money goes to the charity Smile Train!

Reign Metal Lipstick
I bought this on a whim because I wanted to try one of the metals, and this one seemed to be an in between not too dark not too light shade that would suit my skin tone. I didn't know whether I would like it or whether it would look good, but honestly this is SO beautiful. It is so comfortable to wear and was really long wearing, I would totally recommend this colour as it is great during the day and for wearing on a night out. My mum also said she loves this colour so it has the Lesley seal of approval!

Other shout outs go to; 22, Koko K, Kristen and So Cute Gloss!

Over all I really love Kylie's Lip Kits and Kyshadows, and would like to try some of her other make up bits! I'm really hoping she brings out a range of eyelashes because...need! In fact, I might even have a little browse now (RIP bank balance)!

What do you think of Kylie Cosmetics?

Disney | My Favourite Disney Soundtracks/Scores

Hi blog friends!!

It may not surprise you that I am a huge fan of film soundtracks and scores (I even wrote a post on it here!!) being a media graduate.
There is something really comforting about listening to songs (with or without lyrics) that remind you of your favourite film or even transport you into your favourite film (the HP soundtrack is great for this!).

So, I'm sat here in my Mickey Mouse pyjamas listening to the Moana soundtrack, thinking to myself is there anything better than a Disney soundtrack?! Answer: no!
Disney have an incredible knack for producing some of the most upbeat/memorable/heart wrenching/incredible soundtracks and scores well, ever!
So I thought I'd share with you my favourite Disney soundtracks!

Beauty & the Beast (surprise surprise!)

Not only are all the songs AHmazing, but the score is also beautiful. Randomly my favourite song from BatB is The Mob Song (yep the one where they're singing about killing the Beast yep that one! Don't ask it's just damn catchy okay). I remember watching BatB for the first time and getting the biggest goosebumps when Belle starts singing (okay fine I still get goosebumps). This soundtrack is beyond iconic I mean point me to someone who doesn't know Beauty and the Beast (the song!).

The Lion King 2

The Lion King 2 is a highly under appreciated film in my view. I mean Kovu, come on!!! But this film actually has my all time favourite Disney song in it, We Are One. Whenever I listen to it I proper belt it out because I love it so much. Also big shout outs go to Upendi and He Lives in You, which I didn't know was in the stage version of the Lion King and when they started singing it I definitely had a little cry but oh my GOSH it sounded absolutely incredible (also love that they gave a little shout out to the second film!)

Mary Poppins

Mary Poppins is an absolute classic and the songs are even more legendary (especially because they meant so much to Walt! Shout out to those genius Sherman brothers). I love listening to the soundtrack because it just reminds me of being young and watching this A LOT.
Come on I mean who doesn't love a bit of Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke singing supercalifragilisticexpialidocious to cheer them up!

Honourable mentions go out to: Tangled, Moana, Brave, Mulan & Hercules!
What are your favourite Disney or film soundtracks?!

Lots of love

Life | Hi...Again & 2017 Goals!

Hi blog friends!!

Now I know what you're thinking, wait you used to blog right? Yep that's me! It has been a LONG time since I have posted on here and I'm really sad about that! I went through a patch where I just didn't want to write, I didn't want to take pictures, I didn't want to promote my blog...it was just a pretty rubbish time. But you know what they say new year, new found love for blogging!

Since 2016 was all round rubbish (I mean that is a sweeping statement, go you if your 2016 was fab! Okay that sounded patronising it's not, oh god okay I digress), back to the point since 2016 was pants, so I want to make 2017 (in the least cliche way ever) my year. I am determined to set a list of goals and stick to them, and I'm not talking new years resolutions because lets face it, we all break them in about 2 days. I'm talking a list of achievable goals either big or small that I want to accomplish this year, and what better way to make me stick to them than by writing them on the internet for everyone to see! So here we go, these are my 2017 goalz!

1. I want to be a year pull free.

(If you haven't read my blog before or just didn't know in general, I suffer from a form of OCD called Trichotillomania where I pull out my hair. I'm looking into signing up to one of the Trich help websites where you can find a 'buddy' who can help you through trying to stop, so far I am on day 3 of no pulling!)

2. I want to apply for the Disney CRP (Cultural Representative Program) even if i have 0 chance of getting in, I want to try!

3. (cliche warning) I want to join the gym and stick to it!

4. Pass my driving test

5. Join the local netball team and make some friends

6. I want to get better at eye make up and perfect putting false eyelashes on (WHY IS IT SO HARD!?)

7. To drink more water!

8. I want to blog at LEAST twice a week, if not more! I also want to blog even more about Disney so get ready for that.

9. Go to the 25th Anniversary of Disneyland Paris

10. Learn to love myself

What are your 2017 goals? Id love to hear!
So I'm really hoping this writing inspo isn't just a one off and that you'll see a lot more of me.
I am really hoping to stick to my new blogging schedule (but working full time does kinda f that up sometimes) so we'll have to wait and see!

Happy 2017 my lovelies!!

Lots of love
